About Me

I never planned a career in social care โ€” but looking back, it was always where I was heading. After college and several years in office and admin roles, I knew I needed something more meaningful. Volunteering with the Advocacy Alliance and Victim Support opened the door, and I never looked back.

For over 22 years I've worked across three charities, supporting vulnerable adults with housing, benefits, health, wellbeing and finances โ€” always with the same philosophy: it's not about doing things for people, it's doing things with them, until they feel confident enough to do it themselves.

I've always been the person others come to for advice and a listening ear. I'm a passionate advocate for people with learning disabilities, neurodivergent conditions and mental health needs. Injustice drives me โ€” and I'll go out of my way to make sure everyone gets the support they deserve.

Outside of work, you'll find me cooking, eating, travelling, or walking my friend's dog, Spud, through the beautiful landscapes of Scotland and Northumberland. I'm a glass-half-full person, and I love helping others find that same resilience and positivity in their own lives.
